We were a sports club group from Cumbria who needed to be in the local area the next day's national finals. The location was perfect as it was less than 10 minutes away. Even a bus stop outside the door from East Grinsted station! From our arrival, the staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough to help us after our long journey by train and bus. The bar was lively and welcoming and even had a dancing space with a DJ on the Saturday night - none of which could be heard from any of our rooms. Having read some of the previous reviews we didn't have our expectations too high - but everything exceeded them. We can see refurbishments are underway, and would definitely be back if in the local area. The Jazz and Java Cafe next door was amazing for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bonus - we won the competition the next day!

Quaint 15th century pub with impressive Inglewood fireplace worth a visit.
There was a Salsa night when visited.
Accommodation dated but clean, comfortable & ok.
Breakfast can get discount with cafe next door.
New owner very friendly and helpful said was gradually upgrading place.
Currently no pub food on site.
(Swan Inn nearby food wasn’t good - we had different burgers)

I did not have breakfast.
The room and hotel generally looks rather worn. However, recently purchased and managed by new owner. Who I would expect is planning on updating over the next few years. The Owner was on site and very welcoming and helpful .

The location
The room was very old. The bathroom still had a suite fitted from the 80s, really could do with updating.
There was someone from the hotel smoking weed outside of our room late at night on the fire exit stairs with the door open and the smell coming in.
When we arrived the hotel was locked and we had to wait in the rain, phone the hotel and wait for someone to arrive to let us in.
There was no info on when or how to check out and the hotel reception door was locked so we couldnt find anyone.
