Didn’t like the fact we had to pay for parking and could not get into the hotel car park on arrival because of 2 events taking place causing the car park to be full, we had to pay to park in a nearby car park before moving to the hotel later in the day,
I think £10 for an overnight park is a little excessive to say the least, I’m pretty sure the guests for the funeral and conference didn’t have to pay to park

Location
Lack and cost of parking , poor quality amenities including tea tray and bathroom facilities. Wasn’t expecting a buffet breakfast.

Overall the hotel is good with decent quality in all parts. close to city centre so no need for a taxi. Breakfast was very good, bed was comfortable and the level of equipment was as expected.
The room was cold with no ability to alter the temperature, the hot water was just over 'warm' and the water pressure was a dribble so definitely not at the 4 star level. at 8am the housekeeping staff were moving what sounded like a lot of buckets (this was a Sunday morning) and tried to access the room without any knock or announcement. This was a particular concern and would be frightening for a lone female guest (we were a couple).
