The room was cozy but charming in a pub-setting. Staff were friendly and welcoming if occasionally run off their feet due to Sunday crowds. The setting is lovely within walking distance of the local village with decent amenities. Food selection was great especially with allergen issues in our party.
There was a heavy reliance on the local Greene King app which caused some issues when there was a connection issue - I think this was unique to me but was still very inconvenient. Internal communication between staff - especially considering our party’s allergy - was sometimes shortcoming during particularly busy times and while they did their best to resolve issues when they did occur, it did not fill me with confidence when errors occurred.

Easy access to Lyndhurst.
Easy and free to park
Reasonable price compared to other local hotels.
Comparable quality to other local hotels.
Booked a large room. but the bed wasn't large just about a double. TV in the room didn't work on channels other than BBC 1 and 2, Told by reception to unplug and plug it in again. No improvement. Netflix and other platforms disabled due to guests leaving without clearing their log in 🤷. Shower temperature control was poor; fluctuating from too hot to cold without touching the mixer tap.

Room was spacious and clean . Furnishings dated and tired. Breakfast not quite as good as previously, but still good.
Room could do with complete refurb with new carpet etc. Huge dogs allowed in restaurant.
