Located in the heart of the Medina, the Riad is tucked away from the main streets, making it wonderfully peaceful and quiet. The design is simply beautiful, with a great eye for colour, thoughtful details and a lovely atmosphere throughout. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the Riad looked exactly like the photos on Booking.com – if anything, it was even better in real life!
Beyond the guest rooms, there are plenty of lovely spaces on every floor to relax, sit back and chat. The design is so thoughtful that it caters for both sunny and rainy days. One of our favourite moments was spending the early evenings on the rooftop terrace, sipping tea, chatting and watching the sunset. It was pure bliss!
But what really made our stay unforgettable was the wonderful hospitality. We arrived at 3 a.m. on our first night, and Zouhair had kindly arranged a taxi for us in advance. Since taxis can only reach the nearest entrance to the Medina, he even came to meet us there and guide us to the Riad. Such a warm welcome in the middle of the night meant a lot to us!
Breakfast quickly became one of our favourite parts of the day. On sunny mornings, we enjoyed it on the rooftop terrace, while on rainy days, we had breakfast in the beautiful courtyard on the ground floor. Nicki welcomed us so warmly every morning, always asking about our plans for the day and recommending lovely cafés and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious, and there was something different every day. One especially charming detail was that the tableware and napkins had different colour combinations each morning, which made breakfast feel like a little surprise every day. Such a lovely touch!
We stayed in the Family Suite, which was exceptionally clean and spacious enough for all four of us. The beds were very comfortable, and having a separate living room made the space feel even more like a home away from home.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but am compelled after my world-class experience at Berber Duchess Riad.
Private, welcoming and wonderful location. Nikki (Owner) and Zouhair (Concierge) were phenomenal. Anything we needed, they were there. Included rooftop breakfast was top-notch. The hosts arranged multiple day trips for us — private and spacious cars — even a cart man to haul our luggage through the Medina. We stayed in the habibi (sweetheart) room — one suite with 2 private rooms and a gorgeous bathroom. Simply exquisite.
If you’re staying in Marrakech madina — do yourselves a favor and book this place. And tell Zouhair that Andrew from Arizona sent you.

The Berber Duchess Riad is a real gem! We got exactly what we wanted from our accommodation. A warm and friendly welcome and a riad run by local people who go the extra mile to ensure that their guests are treated in a personal and attentive way. Before arrival they offered to organise a taxi plus local guide to get us into the medina and through the mesmerising streets and alleyways; it was perfect to have this sorted so that our holiday started in a relaxing way. On arrival we were offered mint tea and given time to just chill in the beautiful central courtyard. Our room gave us everything that we needed. A very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and internet access. Air-conditioning during this exceptionally hot summer was also very much appreciated. The beautiful plunge pool in the central courtyard was just what I needed after a hot day and we used it every day.
The breakfasts were freshly made and varied; we both really looked forward to these every morning. One evening we also had an evening meal which we ate on the rooftop. Not only was the food absolutely perfect but the setting was atmospheric and absolutely ideal.
I cannot praise Achraf, Bouchra, Jamila and Zuhair enough; they are all a real credit to owner Nicky.
Everything was absolitely spot-on for us and our needs.
