Lelewatu Resort Sumba

View was amazing, villa 14 was facing the ocean and had no other villas overlooking the room

Breakfast was limited to 1 dish per person, would prefer a buffer style or unlimited alacarte

Lelewatu is an absolute paradise! Nestled on a hillside with breathtaking views, the traditional villas have a wonderful organic feel while offering pure, quiet luxury. Our room was super comfortable, featuring an incredible king-sized bed that guaranteed a great night’s sleep. The views across the resort and coastline are simply breathtaking. The food was another highlight: the breakfast menu specifically is diverse, fresh, and delicious! If you enjoy a little walk, don’t miss heading downhill to the small private beach (no swimming) which is a beautiful spot to explore and listen to the waves. Above all, the staff are super friendly and consistently go above and beyond to make you feel warm and welcome. They even thoughtfully arranged a room move for us so we could experience a different part of the property! We could not have asked for better hospitality.

Minor comment: the gym is currently open-air without AC, so it gets quite hot while working out (possibly due to ongoing construction work), and a few of the machines were out of order during our visit.

It is rated as 5 star and it should be. Unfortunately it is looking tired due to no maintenance being unkept. We had issues with our toilet and air conditioning. The staff were fast to rectify however things are looking tired. Floor boards are loose. Our balustrade was wobbly. The main pool looks terrible and should be the main focal point on arrival. The boardwalk is loos and hasn’t seen oil for years. There are weeds growing through. This place has so much potential. The owner needs to invest a little to get it up to 5 star standard again. All in all still worth a stay as like I said staff and location is fantastic especially if you are looking for a recharge
