Being fair to the hotel, once the initial disappointment/ frustration had been solved the hotel wasn’t bad. The staff in all areas were very friendly and polite. The hotel was exceptionally clean and neat, and the breakfast was wide and varied.
The curious lift system deserves a mention. You have to touch your room card to access the choice of floor you want, and then it sometimes seems to have its own idea of how to get you there. It can go straight past your floor to the top then hit yours on the way back down - quite random 😂.
After travelling from 5am to 3pm the last thing you should have to face is an argument about your allocated hotel room. However, after having purchased a full sea view room we arrived at the room to find us staring straight at the building opposite. Sure you could see a bit of the sea if you faced 90 degrees to your right but that side view wasn’t what we paid the premium rate for. I was then involved in a quite long discussion about this room being a “sea view” at the reception desk. They were quite insistent at first that this was the correct room. It was only after I became equally insistent that this wasn’t what was shown in the advertising information on booking.com, and what I had paid the extra premium rate for, that attitudes started to alter. Eventually we were given the correct classification of room. See the photos to decide for yourself whether I was right. But not impressed at all. This is not what you should expect from this level of hotel. I’ve heard of being upgraded when you arrive but never being downgraded!

A beautiful hotel where everything works perfectly; it boasts the best location—both on the island and within the town itself. We spent 5 unforgettable days staying on the 6th floor with a sea view. We slept in an enormous bed with the doors open, listening to the sound of the waves—simply wonderful. There is a lovely promenade; I’d go for a 45-minute morning jog followed by a swim, then enjoy a high-quality breakfast—there was always something new added each day. There are great restaurants nearby; the best one is Venus, where I celebrated my 50th birthday—an unforgettable, exquisite culinary experience—truly top-tier. Also nearby is Racina Wine Bistro, which offers excellent wines and seafood; it’s a smaller spot, but absolutely superb. We would gladly return to the Seaview Hotel given the chance.
We were there from October 16th to 20th, and the pool on the mountain was very cold.But I went for a swim anyway, because I wanted to take a photo.
Also, we forgot to hang the "do not disturb" sign on the door, so our room was cleaned two times that day :-)
