We got played at Villa Playa!

We booked this in May for October. First concern was that payment was taken in June and July in 3 transactions over 10 days to 2 different payees. I queried this with the host Luigi who confirmed it was for the booking. We arrived at the villa and Luigi informed me we still owed $600USD as he had undercharged us. I said I would check and get back to him. 2 days later he informs me that he has tried to charge my credit card but it would not go through. The reason it wouldn’t go through is that I had to cancel this credit card due to fraudulent use about 1 month before the holiday. I checked, and I had in fact been overcharged approx. USD$400. Luigi apologised and advised the amount would be refunded to my credit card. I explained that the credit card was no longer in use so he asked me to upload another card and he would use that for the refund which I did. Regarding the villa, kitchen sink blocked every day, kitchen unit door fell off , large hole in patio tile directly outside the back door, just big enough for a small foot to get caught in, back door lock could be pulled open, the side door didn’t have a lock. Downstairs toilet out of use due to leak, batteries in the TV remote were dead, toilets seats on every toilet were loose. Me and 2 of the children got ear infections. On last day, Luigi rang and said he was not able to check us out and to leave the keys on the side. He promised to refund my $200USD to my bank account. It’s 7 weeks later and I have not received either the refund to my credit card or my deposit back so am $600 down. Luigi comes up with excuse after excuse and has now stopped responding to my messages. To make matters worse, the new credit card that was uploaded for the refund was used fraudulently in Santo Domingo the day after we arrived back. If you want to stay in a sub-standard unsecure villa, be overcharged and have your deposit kept, be lied to for weeks and have your credit cards used fraudulently then book Villa Playa
