Villa Sri Kampung gives everyone a unique opportunity to experience Malaysian rural life, but with full modern comfort. There are only 3 houses in Villa Sri Kampung, we stayed at the furthest one. You have a full jungle-immersive experience, as it’s a glass room, to watch the nature. A must-do for all bird-watchers and nature enthusiasts! I am no expert, but I counted at least 10 birds species including kingfishers and hornbills. We also saw monkeys and giant squirrels straight from our room.
There are two aircons and a small kitchenette with a fridge. The host provided plenty of water. Breakfast was included and it was brought directly to our house. Other meals we ordered on grab food app. There are a couple of small local stores if you want to buy some supplies or basic groceries, about 10 mins walk (turn right from the property).
The highlight for me was the bathtub in the wall-to-ceiling glass room — you feel like you are lying in the jungle river.
It was very easy and cheap to get grab taxi to go places.
This stay is very different from the typical beach holidays and ordinary hotels. However I would recommend any tourist to try to spend at least one night at Sri Kampung house, as it’s an unforgettable and unique experience you can’t get anywhere else.
Last but not least, the host and everyone in the village were super friendly to us, and the local kids even invited us to join a game of sepak takraw, a sort of volleyball played with feet. This is the real “behind the scenes” Langkawi experience!
Our villa was on a very steep hill that the taxi can’t drive, so we had to drag the luggage up the hill for the last 50m. We didn’t have big suitcases so it was no problem. However, keep this in mind and perhaps book the first villa if you are not sporty. Also at night in the jungle it can get noisy, with loud cicadas and occasional dogs howling. That adds to authenticity but if you come from the city and not used to the forest, bear this in mind

Happy and truly enjoyed our stay at Villa Sri Kampung Langkawi!
Absolutely in love with the beautiful forest environment — surrounded by lush greenery, peaceful nature and such a relaxing atmosphere. The glass house is especially stunning, cool and calm, making it the perfect place to unwind and escape from the busy city life.
A beautiful hidden retreat for nature lovers. Definitely a place I would love to visit again!
