We went out to breakfast.
No tea in room.

The staff was friendly and they had a nice array of pastries for breakfast with coffee or tea. The location is excellent for shopping and dining.
I wasn't happy with the location of my room, my friends were all upstairs and they had me downstairs all the way in the corner with a very dark entryway. I was also not able to make coffee in the morning the machine was broken.

The hotel is in an almost perfect location for Carmel, near the beach, near the golf courses, and in the center of town. The rooms are spacious, the bed is comfortable, and check-in and out were seamless.
The original hotel is dated, leaving sounds, voices, and floor creaks vibrating from above to below. I was awake every night to conversations and the movement above us. They have a tiny TV that is almost impossible to watch, and it's a metaphor for how little they are willing to invest in their rooms. Finally, the internet was spotty, and I checked the bandwidth at 10 Mbps. I was extremely disappointed that housekeeping in a hotel was limited to once every three days. When we arrived home on the third day, the housekeeper caught me in the courtyard and asked if I even wanted it, which made for an uncomfortable conversation. She was relieved when I said I just wanted to rest. Finally, the small plate of pastries is almost comical compared to the massive selection of bakeries across the street. Our friends stayed in a nicer boutique hotel with incredible customer care, daily housekeeping, a hot tub, and amazing breakfast for $50 less a night around the corner.

Location and easy to park
They didn't have daily housekeeping, even when their announcement said it. It is not normal for the nightly rate.
Staff was not welcoming.
Rooms very poor in equipment, no minibar.
