The location was great, right in the heart of Varenna, within walking distance of the main attractions, restaurants, and beautiful lakeside areas. The apartment was a reasonable size for four people and overall was a decent place to stay.
However, the cleanliness could have been better, as there was quite a lot of dust in the apartment. There is also a fish shop downstairs, so the smell of fish can be quite strong outside the apartment, although thankfully, we didn’t notice any smell inside.
Another downside was the staircase leading to the apartment, which was inconvenient, especially when traveling with children and carrying luggage.
