Good, comfortable stay.

The glass surfaces were not clean. I had to clean the tv before I could watch it and the shower was quite water marked.

Could have been so much better

We were visiting family nearby. The location - close to major roads - was excellent. The pub next door (The Running Horse) is worth a visit - lovely atmosphere and good food. The bed was very comfortable (but the duvet was too hot for a summer booking and there was no fan - essential in the hot weather).

The name of the house is small and not visible in both directions (and not lit) so despite using what3words, it was hard to find. There is not enough parking for 3 cars - we had to ask the other guests to move their car so we could get in. There was only one scratched non-stick saucepan for cooking (not healthy!) so luckily we didn't need to use any of the cooking facilities. It would have been nice to have had a set of 4 mugs (only 3) - it just felt as if the owner couldn't be bothered to replace things when they broke. There were also no instructions for any of the kitchen equipment - cooker, microwave, coffee machine. There was a Nespresso machine but no pods. The toilet pan was stained. A hook on the back of the bathroom door would have been so handy. Freezer door fell off - only held on with ice! So the freezer compartment was iced up. Only one hanger in the cupboard. We messaged on the evening of our arrival to ask for more hangers but had no acknowledgement of this. If we had needed to hang up smart clothes, coats etc - we couldn't have done. I don't know what guests do if they have wet coats - there is nowhere to put these! A hook on the back of the front door would have been really helpful. The blinds in the studio room let in a lot of light so we hung our shirts over the gap, to get sleep in the mornings. You can hear the footsteps of the guests in the flat above - it wasn't very loud but the noise was still obvious. There was no light near the keybox - so we struggled to line up the numbers to open this. My family and I have run several holiday lets and we know it is the attention to detail that matters to our guests - it would have been helpful to have had an info pack, leaflets of local attractions, where the nearest supermarket is etc. There is so much potential but the flat just felt unloved and it was disappointing that we had no response to our messages about the lack of hangers and the freezer door.

The flat is spacious and comfortable. The bathroom and kitchen are small and require a bit of care when moving about, but that's OK. The location is great, but as mentioned many times before, not well signposted.

The entry is awkward especially when carrying a large case. The freezer is still choked with ice, and there is still a stain on the bed cover. A shame, because these little things could be so easily rectified.
