Disappointing stay

Great location and a good size. The place was clean.

We loved Galway but this place was disappointing. The check in process was pretty shambolic. We were told check in was from 3pm and gave our estimated arrival as 5pm. We arrived earlier (4pm) and our room wasn't ready. The staff didn't pick up when I called so I emailed them. They were slow to respond but luckily the cleaners were very helpful. We dropped our bags off and went into town for dinner. We were only given access to the property at 5:45pm. It was dangerous to cook on the stove. Once the hot plates were switched on at the wall, all elements /hobs would turn on and wouldn't turn off. This meant we had to cook while trying to avoid being burnt by the other hobs. The shower could only be on blisteringly hot and the bath had no plug which made it hard to bathe our 7mo baby. The cold water in the shower would only run at a trickle so it was hard to get the shower to run at a temperature that was ok for our bub. The beds were also very soft.

Please update the instructions for the heating system, as they are out of date now that a new boiler has been installed. The boiler wasn’t working when I arrived, but I really appreciated the quick response and prompt repair.

Not the best, but I booked this for the clothes washer and that worked.

Location was good for walking into town, but very far from the Salthil area.

Pro tip from me: Put the address into your maps ahead of time and save it. I stayed here for 3 nights in mid-September. Finding the place I arrived on a very rainy day, and the address provided sent me to a bar around the corner. I phoned the number given, but speaking to someone who is not local is a frustrating experience because they are reading from scripts. I was standing in the pouring rain, desperately trying to find my place. I had the door codes, but Maps would not get me to the actual house. Eventually, I found it. The unit The unit itself is fine — very bare minimum. The beds are soft and a bit lumpy, but there are plenty of towels. The dishwasher is, I believe, broken because the plates in the cupboard were dirty, and there was a soggy tablet still sitting in the soap compartment. There was no soap for the laundry, so I am gifting the large bottle I bought, haha 🙃. The washing machine itself seems to work well, though, and the laundry was the main reason I booked this place because I’m on a 3-week traveling journey. The clothes-drying rack also needs to be replaced. It is broken because someone clearly pushed down on it too hard. Kitchen The kitchen has no salt, pepper, or cooking oil, which was a bit disappointing. I bought groceries because the weather was so bad on my first day, so having a few basic cooking essentials would have been helpful. Heating and instructions The hot water heater has been replaced, so the YouTube videos and instructions are not accurate anymore. To turn on the heat, you must turn on that part of the hot water heater. These instructions should be updated and, honestly, made more specific to the actual unit. Tell me exactly where the thermostat is — don’t just give me a picture and tell me to find it. The banging/pounding noise Then comes the banging/pounding noise.

Easy access to the city centre. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy

The gas boiler wasn’t working the day we arrived - so no hot water or stove top gas burners worked- and we weren’t sure anyone was receiving our after hours recorded messages..however a lovely maintenance man arrived early the next morning and fixed it all

It was in a great location. Easy for town and bus / train stations. Comfortably accommodated 6 adults for sleep. Checking in was easy and the staff member who met us was very friendly and helpful.

The shower in the bedroom behind the kitchen did not work. The separate bathroom next to it had a very unpleasant smell. There was a strong smell of gas next to the boiler in the living room, which was concerning.
