We had a fantastic stay at Sandra and James’ cottage and couldn’t have asked for better hosts. They were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help, providing great recommendations for places to visit and making sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was exactly as advertised—spotlessly clean, spacious, comfortable, and fully equipped for a relaxing stay. The peaceful, quiet location made it the perfect place to unwind.A special thank you to Sandra and James for kindly lending me a beach towel after I forgot mine. It was such a thoughtful gesture and really showed their generosity and hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and if we return to the Lake District, we will definitely be booking this cottage again. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely stay here. The cottage was immaculate, well equipped and very peaceful. Host's were on hand if we needed them but luckily we didn't have any issues. Perfect location to explore the lakes from. We had a lovely meal in the Dog and Gun literally a minutes walk from the cottage. Booking would be needed as very busy. Would certainly book this property again

An absolutely wonderful holiday! The cottage was a home away from home, in the very picturesque and quiet town of Skelton. Sandra was the perfect host, and we most definitely appreciated the very quick response to any query we had! The location was perfect for our visit to this less-touristy part of the Lake District…and we were not disappointed! It was the quickest and one the most enjoyable holidays we had on our many staycations. In fact, we could easily have stayed longer, as there is so much to see and do in this beautiful part of the country. As for dining, the highly recommended Michelin Starred restaurant, Dog and Gun Inn (which is a 5-minute walk away from the cottage) is amazing! One of the best meals we had in the UK! Although The Dog and Gun Inn is the only walking-distanced place to eat, and it is not open on Monday and Tuesday, we were able to find two other nice places: The Sun Inn and the Calthwaite Hall Restaurant and Bar. Both of which are about a 10-minute or so drive from the cottage. So, would we go back? Definitely!
