About this house rental
House for 9 people , No air conditioning; fans in every room. cot for children up to 3 years , Wi Fi free in house, , Heating included in the price from October 15th to April30 th. Le Celle stands next to a small church which dates back to the 1500’s. Part of the house also dates back to that period. It is in a hillside position with various places for sitting and eating outside and the pool area with a lovely view. The property is just 3 kms from Terontola, 10 kms from Cortona and 4 kms from Camucia where you can find all shops and supermarkets you might need including petrol stations, and a vast choice of restaurants. We will provide you with details of all the local fiestas and sagras being held during your stay and also a list of all musical and artistic events scheduled in Cortona and the towns nearby. Even Rome and Florence if requested. The owner and caretaker lives in a small, characteristic cottage 40 metres away and is at your disposition .

Mauro was a welcoming and helpful host, promptly addressing any questions that arose during our stay. The property proved a wonderful place for a reunion of 6 of us, with ample room and multiple areas for enjoying meals together yet allowing us each some space of our own. Beautiful setting, great location for exploring the hill towns of Tuscany and Umbria and the area around Lake Trasimeno.

Casa le celle is a rustic farmhouse, unpretentious but full of character, located in beautiful surroundings at the end of a valley. It is surrounded on three sides by high ground the slopes of which are given over to olive groves, woodland and scrub. Casa le Celle is ideally suited to those that enjoy being in a quiet, rural location and who appreciate the natural environment. We received a friendly welcome from the owner, Mauro, who lives close by and who was a very helpful host throughout our stay – thank you, Mauro. With regard to attractions, Lake Trasimeno is just a 20-minute drive away and there are several historic and architecturally interesting towns such as Assisi, Panicale, Perugia and Spello within easy driving distance. Terontola-Cortona station is a 10-minute drive away from where direct train services go to Florence, Naples and Rome. On a practical note, there are supermarkets and shops in Camucia and numerous restaurants in the historic centre of Cortona. Our preference, though, for eating out was to go to Tuoro sul Trasimeno. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return to Casa le Celle if visiting this part of Italy again.

The perfect place for those who want to relax in beautiful Tuscany. The typical charming Italian house has all the comforts and necessities. The rooms are larger than the photos show. The location between two mountains makes the house completely private. It is quiet and completely surrounded by nature. There is a terrace for both morning and evening. The pool, located in the beautiful garden, offers cooling on hot days. The location is also perfect for those who want to explore the region. Cities such as Pisa, Florence, Siena, Assisi are a stone's throw from the house. Cortona at 10 minutes drive is also a daily hit!
The host, Mauro, is the icing on the cake. He finds the perfect balance between being present where needed and absent to respect your privacy. On arrival, he has prepared 2 tapas platters and a bottle of wine. You are truly welcomed and made to feel at home. We have been to many places, but casa le celle has captured our hearts. Mauro, thank you for a perfect vacation, we will definitely come back.

Overall we had a wonderful stay! This property is very charming and in an ideal location for exploring Tuscany. It was exactly what we were looking for in terms of a traditional Tuscany house to serve as a home base for our trip. The property itself is beautiful with fruit and olive trees surrounding it and flowers on the grounds. The house is very roomy with many places to sit outside and big bedrooms, with a giant kitchen table. Note that there is no AC (as is typical in Italy) - but there were plenty of fans in the house and in the evening the air is much cooler for sleeping. The pool was wonderful and was a lifesaver for us, as we were there during a heatwave. The host, Mauro, was very accommodating and friendly and provided us with recommendations for shops and restaurants.
The location of the house could not be more perfect for exploring the Tuscany area. It is only a 10 minute drive to Cortona, which is a lovely town up on a hilltop with tons of great restaurants and cafes, and sights to see. It is also located very close to Siena, Montelpulciano, and Montalcino and a beautiful lake. There are several supermarkets in the nearby town and you can buy anything you need there. The house itself is outside of the main town, so not "walkable" to cafes or restaurants. We would definitely recommend and look forward to another stay there at some point in the future.
