Jackie Deserves 5 Stars – The Rest Does Not Jackie was the only highlight of our stay at Mon Repos Guest Farm. She is warm, welcoming, and genuinely goes out of her way to make guests feel comfortable. Her kindness and professionalism are the reason this review is not a 1-star rating. Unfortunately, everything else fell far short of what we expected for the rates charged, and the overall experience was simply not value for money. Our concerns: We had no hot water in our shower for the entire weekend. Rather than resolving the issue, guests were told to use the shower in Room 5 and wait their turn to shower. This was highly inconvenient, especially considering that many guests were couples. The shower walls and corners were covered in spider webs, making it obvious that the bathroom had not been properly cleaned for some time. The patio door and other areas of the room were dirty and covered in cobwebs. Ants and other insects were everywhere, including on the bed. The property is clearly in need of pest control and fumigation. Our room was not serviced daily. For the rates being charged, we expected basic housekeeping services to maintain cleanliness and comfort throughout our stay. On the morning of our departure, we requested an iron and were told there were no irons available. Johan, the owner, told us, "There are no irons, and no ironing is allowed in my rooms." The phrase "my rooms" and the manner in which this was communicated came across as dismissive and unwelcoming. As paying guests, we expected to be treated with courtesy and respect. The farm itself is beautiful and has potential, but poor housekeeping, inadequate maintenance, pest issues, lack of basic amenities, and poor customer service from the owner overshadowed the setting. When paying these rates, guests should reasonably expect clean accommodation, hot water, daily room servicing, basic amenities, and respectful treatment.

The location is a reasonable distance from Warmbaths Resort and Bela-Bela town. Breakfast was ok but not great. At least an effort was made to accommodate our preference. Property is very secure.

Communication is a problem! Plug in room did not work properly, plug cover broken and loose. Hardly slept the first night because of the peacocks. Fire extinguishers long overdue for service. A small fridge in the room would be nice. room TV only has 5 channels, all with terrible reception.
