About this cottage rental
Old Schoolyard Cottage is a charming brick and flint period cottage with a character all of it's own. The cottage sleeps a maximum of four people in two well-proportioned bedrooms but guests should be aware that the stairs are quite steep. Downstairs, the dining room linking the lounge and kitchen and gives ample space for families to spread out.
The cottage is ideally situated being a few moments' walk from the beach and High Street, making daily trips to the local shops a pleasure and yet within minutes you can be on the coastal path or on the cliffs high above the town.
There is off-road parking for one car, on the concrete pad in front of the cottage and a long-stay car park 100 meters up Cliff Road for additional vehicles or visitors.
Free WiFi is available. Linen is provided but guests are asked to bring their own towels. The cottage has gas central heating and fitted carpets throughout, except for the bathroom and kitchen, and UPVC double glazing. The tourist information folders are updated each year and a selection of books, DVDs and board games is available. The rear porch area houses a spin drier, freezer, beach chairs and a windbreak but is also suitable for storing bikes etc.
We regret we are not able to accept pets. Smoking is not permitted inside the property. Short breaks are not available in July/August.

We had a really good stay at the property, lots of positives;Location- couldn't be better, literally minutes from sea front and high street shops etcParking- great to have a parking space right outside. although could be a a little tight for someProperty size- all rooms very good size, plenty space in both bedrooms, lounge & dining room, furniture dated but good condition, kitchen and bathroom small but more than adequate Bonus was a small outdoor space ( only negative with this is its kind of within next doors garden and when we arrived, as you have to go through next door garden to access the property, there was a dog in their garden, It was friendly but some people may find this uncomfortable )So really enjoyed our stay BUT there were some negatives.The property could really do with TLC.The carpet throughout the downstairs is incredibly dirty, the sofa/armchairs really need a deep clean.The dining room was lovely and spacious BUT the window and wooden blinds desperately need cleaning, full of cobwebs and dead flies ( I did have to clean the window sills) The kitchen was clean, kitchen bins spotless, but sink area was quite dirty and I did have to bleach the sink & washing up bowl .The stairs also desperately need some attention, paintwork very old and tatty and could really do with a lick of paint Overall the cottage was really good and fantastic price wise, but really does need some TLC and a deep clean and would be fantastic.

The Cottage was excellent in every way. It was clean and comfortable. It was within walking distance for the beach and the town shops. We had breakfast every day at two or three different eateries and couldn't fault them, really tasty. We recommend this cottage wholeheartedly

Fantastic location...beach on the doorstep and shops. Added bonus of parking on site. Cottages is small and had everything you needed but is need of modernisation and updating.
