Aminess Vival Port9 Resort

On arrival we were kindly upgraded to a larger room but when we got there the view did not match the expected view of our original choice. Instead of looking at mountains and trees we were looking over an ugly rooftop and were very close to the main road and carpark. They kindly moved us to a room closer to our choice and which was still a slight upgrade. We wanted higher up but we actually went down a floor. What I don't get is why not give us the nicer room in the first place? This happens time and time again. And I later confirmed there were rooms available higher up? The infinity pool was nice, though icy cold even on a hot day, it was mid-September. The location, though lovely, was a little isolated (which was our misunderstanding), but only a short boat taxi or electric golf cart ride into Korcula. We found dinner to be better than what other reviewers had written and the breakfast was fine though the coffee was pretty bad. One bone of contention was that they refused to give us tap water each night at dinner. They would go so far to turn off the water dispensers and remove the glasses. On our last night when we brought our own water it took some convincing to give us two glasses. I thought the water must not be drinkable but the management confirmed the water was fine. I refuse to buy bottled water on principle. It costs a 1,000 times more to produce than tap water for starters. All this so they can sell overpriced bottled water? This kind of attitude cheapens the place and our dinners were tainted by this. The normally pleasant wait staff would just avoid us for the rest of our dinner? Unfortunately, the beds were way too hard and I prefer a hard bed and the sofas uncomfortably soft. Instead of looking at our lovely view, all the furniture was aimed at the tiny television and in some cases actually blocking our view? We did have a nice balcony view but it could get cool outside.

To not be obliged to buy overpriced bottled water when the tap water was excellent. The beds were too hard and the sofas too soft.

I loved being on the beach,the water taxi was fun, The room was comfortable, breakfast was good but the dinner could have had more variety but still good.

When I got off the water taxi it was hard to pull a big suitcase all away around to reception especially in very warm weather.it would be nice to have something to bring guests all the way around also uneven paths pulling a suitcase.

Good location, nice views and pool area. Beach is ok but better beaches to explore on island. Nice pool.

The beds. They push two twin beds together to make a double bed. Not good for couples.

The room and weather. Water taxis to town, supermarket nearby and breakfast was okay.

Pool area was chaotic. Kids not monitored so made it unpleasant. Aqua Aerobics each day with really loud music and whistle blowing. Cigarette butts all over the place. Not enough sun beds for volume of people. Water not great on the beach, lots of brown moss so not nice to swim in. Would say 3* at best. Okay if you have kids but otherwise not great. Holiday was okay but I’ve had better. Trip to Badjia was lovely, the water beautiful. Grounds need more care and the camping area makes the place look awful.
