About this villa rental
This luxury two storey villa is an ideal haven for those looking for something that extra bit special. Located very close to Desert Springs Golf Course, this beautifully constructed villa sleeps four comfortably and is a must for any golf fanatic but offering much more in the local area to ensure a relaxed and enjoyable holiday. Situated in the hamlet of La Algarrobina, in superb landscaped grounds, the enclosed private area to both side and rear of the villa encompasses a beautifully laid out pool and sunbathing area. The hamlet is approximately 200 meters from a lightly used main Road , the current road surface leading to the Villa is hard core awaiting tarmac. A CAR IS ESSENTIAL .The nearest town of Vera is 2.5 km away providing access to a number of Supermarkets .The fishing port of Garrucha (home to the re-known Garrucha prawn) is a 15 minute drive and Mojacar Pueblo which is set up in the hills with its whitewashed villas, quaint boutique shops and stunning Panoramic views is a 20/25 minute drive . The area offers miles of sandy beaches with water sports available in Garrucha . The area is re-known for cyclists and there are numerous cycle hire shops available .Golfers are catered for at Desert Springs (5 minutes from the villa) Europes only Desert based course , Valle de Este , Marina Playa , Aguillon . The recently opened Lunar Cable park is a state of the art adventure and water sports complex - activities include kayak , Ninja park , Aqua glide and paddle boarding located near Cuevas about 15 minutes drive. La Geoda Pulpi is a spectacular Crystal mine home to the largest mineral Geode in Europe . This is located 30 minutes drive from the villa having passed through the small town of San Juan with its long but shallow sandy beaches (ideal for young children) .

The villa was well appointed and spacious. It was very clean and comfortable. It had everything that we needed as a couple. The pool was clean and a pleasure to use. If you want to walk to bars, cafes or restaurants then that would be a struggle but we knew that just by looking at the location within maps. With a car, (recommended) there is easy access to other coastal towns and beaches. Any communication with the host was excellent and Sharon was very helpful.Would I use it again? Yes.

We had a lovely 2 weeks at the villa. Everything was as described. The pool and sunroom were lovely. I would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed a wonderful holiday in this relaxing property. It is located in quite a remote area so a car is a must. It is only a short drive to Vera where all amenities can be found. The nearest beach is approximately a ten minute drive away - parking is free.
The pool at the villa is a reasonable size for kids / family to play in. Air conditioning in the bedrooms is very effective. There isn't an outside BBQ so cooking outside requires rigging up a hot plate with extension lead. It works but doesn't have the same effect as a BBQ. Cooking and eating outside during the day was a challenge because of the flies: need one hand to eat and one hand to fend off the flies. Still worth the effort though.
The owners were very helpful prior to our arrival giving us a lot of information as we requested. On arrival we also had a welcome pack of 'fizz' and other essentials - a very thoughtful touch. The villa was very clean.
Why only 3 stars? On return from our holiday our returned deposit was unexpectedly reduced. This was due to the pool requiring an extra clean during our stay (at our request). We were not warned at the time there would be this additional cost. The pool got very dirty and murky quickly. The owner said this was due to sand. We think it was due to dirt being blown in by the wind (it can be quite windy at times). Whatever the cause, it seemed a little churlish to be billed for the clean especially without being told this would be the case.
A stand up fan broke whilst we were there. It just collapsed (it was clearly not in very good order when we arrived - very wobbly and noisy) - the owner indirectly suggested we were at fault as in an email they stated "We haven't charged you for the broken fan".
As a property that is being rented out there were other minor things that should be addressed such as a lot of solar lights in the garden not working, cement work around the pool is cracking, TV instructions very complicated (need writing more logically). These are only minor issues and did not detract from our great holiday.
If it hadn't of been for the unexpected additional charge for the pool cleaning and the comment regarding the fan, we would have given a 4 star rating (4.5 stars would have been more accurate as the additional issues were only very minor).
In summary, we would recommend the property but with the caution of being wary of potential unexpected post holiday costs!
