This BnB is supposedly designed by a famed American architect, and photos really do not reflect its cosy and stylish interiors. The designs are minimalist and sleek, the “double” beds are actually king size, the bedside table doubles as a chic Bluetooth speaker, gwater and simple toiletries are self served in the common area. There is even a faint view of the Great Wall from her rooftop.
Just minutes after checking in, the owner had already helped to arrange Great Wall entrance, cable car, and toboggan tickets without me asking. Lili is a great host and an even better cook. Her home cooking has restaurant quality wok-hei, and her guests all order from her (get the eggplant!).
The property is about a 10 minute leisurely stroll up to the Great Wall cable car. If you start off early, you can make it back in time for check out.
There’s absolutely nothing we didn’t like, but I must point out that the walls are only about 85% soundproof, and i caught my toe with the sliding bathroom door.

Everything was amazing the staff were very welcoming, kind and attentive! The breakfast was delicious too. It is a 10 min walk to the wall base which makes it so easy and a pleasent stay if you’re plans are just to climb the wall

A true gem and a really surprising find in the Mutianyu Village, right at the foot of the Great Wall's entry point. Our host Lily was wonderful in every way possible; from checking us in on arrival, booking our admission and chair lift tickets, cooking our delicious dinner as well as our breakfast the next day - and all with a genuine smile on her face. This is a family run business, and as Lily's husband was unwell in hospital during our stay, the children also stepped up to help out with serving us dinner and making coffee at breakfast time. 12 year old Kun Kun revelled in his 'Little Boss's title, and eagerly helped out when needed, whilst big sister made us some impressive coffee in the morning. A rare find amongst so many other ordinary accommodation places. This homestay is an experience in itself with quality decor that is unique and a cut above the rest. I'd highly recommend you consider Let's Go Cafe & Bar if you're making a trip to Mutianyu. We were able to visit twice during our 1 night stay, with beautiful weather on both days. As people who are not early risers, it was great to be able to do a late afternoon trek, then sleep in the next morning and just walk up the small hill to start off our full day's hike.

Lily and her husband were super welcoming hosts. We had dinner here both nights and the food was delicious, I would wholeheartedly recommend staying with them in the evening for a lovely dinner and then to enjoy the roof terrace. It was a little chilly, Lily was kind and grabbed 2 warm blankets so we could enjoy the terrace. You can see parts of the great wall from it during the day. It is up a small hill to get to the entrance for the great wall and Lily sorted our tickets for us the night before. We went up for the first cable car ride at 7:30, Lily ensured we had a great breakfast beforehand and sent us off with water. We had parts of the wall entirely to ourselves and we would not have been able to do this without staying here.
