My partner and I spent 6 weeks in Mongolia visiting 3 regions of the country. We spent several days in UB between excursions to relax, do laundry, see the city and recharge. Our 3 stays at Tanan Apartments during our trip were just what we needed.
It is a central location, minutes walking distance to the main square, restaurants, attractions and major bus stops. There is a very convenient small market, pharmacy and cafe on the bottom floor of the building.
The apartment itself was very clean and comfortable. A washing machine was a big bonus. Compared to a hotel room it gave us plenty of room to spread out and relax. We didn't cook any meals, but appreciated being able to have morning coffee and breakfast in the room. There is a freezer/fridge, small stove, microwave, kettle, dishes and a small assortment of pots and pans.
WhatsApp communication with the building manager was easy and picking up the keys was straight-forward. We stayed here 3 times and would happily do it again.
About 3:00 to 3:30pm on weekdays the small street in front of the Tanan Building is packed with the cars of parents picking their kids up from an area school. It's only an issue if you're trying to have a taxi come right to the building during that short window of time.

Location was ok. Washing machine was great. Grocery store downstairs was handy.
No aircon. Lounge and cushions on lounge was that filthy we didn’t sit on it once. No tea towels to wipe anything. Dishwashing liquid was empty. We had one roll of toilet paper for three days had to buy one one.

It was a shop downstairs
The apartment was okay clean, but the shower was broken, had just cold water even when we turned on the heating. It is almost 20 minutes walk from town. And the cafe downstairs is not open on sundays and lady who works there is not super friendly. The beds where hard
