The onsen and the surroundings were amazing! Everything was prepared wonderfully and with such care. Upon request we received full vegetarian meals and honestly it was some of the best food we had during our japan trip! The area is great for hiking and exploring Nagano prefecture, and there are cute cafes and stores nearby.

This is a traditional ryokan, with wonderful staff (special shout out to Kui-San). Fabulous kaiseki dinners, beautifully presented, and a great introduction to onsen culture. Oh yes- I forgot to mention the Kose toiletries, which were a treat. It feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere but it’s perfect for reaching the mountains or exploring wasabi & apple farms.
It’s a little dated, with a few steep stairs if you stay in the annexe. Breakfast isn’t appetizing (cold hard fish at 8am is hard to swallow if you’re not used to it) and there are no choices

La struttura è fantastica, posizionata in una zona silenziosa e riparata, che permette il soggiorno ideale per un ryokan. L’onsen è davvero bello e rilassante, adatto dopo giornate di camminate. Cena e colazione rispecchiano i pasti giapponesi e si sposano a perfezione con l’esperienza che si vuole andare a vivere. Il personale però la fa da padrone, sono tutti di una disponibilità e gentilezza incredibili, il gioiello della struttura!
L’Internet effettivamente non è dei migliori, ma in un momento di relax che questa struttura propone forse è anche esso un bonus
