A special thank you to the hotel manager (I believe), who was incredibly helpful, kind and attentive throughout my stay. As I was travelling alone, I really appreciated her availability and willingness to accommodate my requests. She made me feel welcome and well looked after!
I initially booked an economy room, which was a little too small and dark for my liking, but I was able to upgrade to a larger room, which was fantastic. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom and everything working properly. The continental breakfast was also excellent, with a generous selection of food and plenty of options to choose from. Another big plus was the 24-hour security and supervision at the property. As a solo traveller, feeling safe is extremely important to me, and I felt safe and comfortable throughout my entire stay.
The main things that could be improved are the windows and curtains. As the windows are quite old, they do not block out much of the street noise, and the curtains do not adequately keep out the morning sunlight. The bed sheets could also have been cleaner, as they were not perfectly clean during my stay.
Overall, I had a very pleasant experience, especially thanks to the wonderful staff member who went out of her way to help me. The spacious room, excellent breakfast, warm hospitality and sense of security made my stay enjoyable. Thank you for making me feel so welcome!

Everything was basically OK. Notice that the Normandy is at B.H. downtown… practical but the neighbourhood… ough! A lot of homeless living on those streets; and it is not a neighbourhood where you can find a variety of restaurants; Shopping centres, yes. TIP: prefer the Lourdes neighbourhood, very close to downtown, but better.
Three items: 1. Desperate need of double-glass windows (the hotel is surrounded by busy noisy avenues: Saturday night is the worst: they instal “barracas” all during the night). 2. To offer variety at breakfast: not a single difference morning after morning. 3. Staff: friendly indeed, but don’t think of them for practical specific orientations. Restaurant-kitchen night-staff: terrible slow.

Location. It is centraly located and close to shops and restaurants
It is old and installations are not in a good shape. Staff is average, and do not provide useful information. We were informed the restaurant was open, just to walk in and other staff inform it was closed for cleaning. Not worth the cost x benefit, there are other better options in the region.
