The rooms are above a pub (The Duke of York), and while this pub appeared rather 'seedy' the rooms are of good quality, the only negative being that there is no lift so you have to climb one or two flights of stairs. The location is good, being only a short walk from the Edgeware Road, where there is a supermarket and a host of restaurants. They looked after my luggage between stays and when I had a medical emergency, they facilitated calling ambulance. They then looked after my luggage until I was able to retrieve it while in hospital,
On the first occasion when I stayed having to climb two flights of stairs, however on the second occasion they gave me a firt floor room, of similar quality,

Staff was super friendly, easy check in and out, respectable of our privacy. Everything was clean in the room and the bar down stairs was spotless. Locals that was coming in gave us a great warm welcome really chatty too.
Nothing about the room and staff itself, other than maybe offer breakfast services in the pub, and more food recommendations, other than that loved everything eltse.

The room was wonderfully cosy with very comfortable beds and very quiet. The stairs up are an adventure and added to the sense of travel and tight quarters in London. One of the best features of the hotel is the pub on the main floor, it's an absolute local gem with locals enjoying beer and conversation and super attentive staff.
Well, honestly the stairs were challenging with all our luggage, but we made the best of it and it makes for a great story. Parking would have been tricky, but we returned our rental car after we checked in and remained on foot for the duration of our stay.

Location.
Staff were friendly.
It could do with a deep clean. Skirting boards and edge of carpet looks like it hasn’t been cleaned for months.
Unclear around soap pump.
No lift.
No iron
No way to get in touch with staff, as I was on the third floor and I wasn’t going downstairs. The phone in the room didn’t work. I tried to call via my mobile and messaged via booking.com app.
