Not worth it.

The location is great

1. When I first arrived, I left the apartment while the main floor gallery (door to apt) was still open. When I arrived back, I couldn't get my key to work, so I was locked out. It was late 11:00 PM and I was stuck outside in the alley. I contacted the host, not knowing what else to do. He read my message on Whatsapp and never replied. I only got in because someone else left. He never brought it up the next day either - I had to contact him AGAIN to figure out a working key situation. 2. It was very hot while I was there, so a couple days I wanted to rest and watch TV during the heat of the day. The tv turned on, but that was it. No apps, no local channels, nothing. The host never even attempted a resolution. 3. I also planned on working online during the hot afternoon. NOPE. The Wifi was unreliable. I couldn't predict if/when it would connect. A HUGE waste of my time. I asked about this and the host repeatedly passed the buck of blame. 4. The fridge froze everything I put in it, including a very expensive medication that needed to be kept cold. Once it froze, it had to be thrown away for safety. The host did not care. 5. When I asked the app site to get involved, the host lied and said I was given early access to the apt. - Not true. I dropped my BAGS off at 10:00, but the previous guest was literally still in the room. I went to the beach and entered the apartment around 2:00. I was offered a pittance of a refund and when I countered asking for a slightly higher amount to compensate for all of these troubles, the whole case was shut down. 6. There is no "view". You look out the window and see the building across the alley and its awnings. I was very disappointed. This was my sixth time in Dubrovnik, but first time paying the premium prices to stay right in Old Town. It wasn't worth it.

Beware of unhygenic/unhealthy environment due to bedbugs. Stay at your own risk.

Location, Location, Location! The property is right off the Stradun and very close to the Pile Gate (a 10-15 min walk from Ploce Gate - but all flat).

BEDBUG crawling in our bed!! Booked 3 nites at Dreams Stradun Apt in Old Town Dubrovnik for 2 reasons; (1) large 600sqft one-bedroom (2) facing the Stradun (main street) - so no stairs to climb. Anyone who's been to Dubrovnik will understand. Upon arrival, the apartment did not disappoint. It was off the Stradun & our bedroom looked straight out onto it. Surprisingly, it was not noisy. The apt had a kitchen with eat in area - a bathroom on one side & the bedroom on the other. The bedroom is very spacious. We were very impressed. But, after settling in, we noticed some drawbacks. Furniture was old & musty, but acceptable. The bedroom AC did not cool the room. When u entered the room u felt a temp difference, but soon u'd be sweating. The kitchen & bathroom do not have cooling. Lastly, the wifi was not working - but the host replaced the router; problem fixed. That said, we tried to make the most of it. But all bets were off when we discovered a bedbug crawling on the bed! Yes, a BEDBUG. This was a deal breaker for us. We immediately notified the host & called Booking.com (B.com). To my surprise, B.com did not seem too concerned (re: the bedbugs) & was not very helpful. They filed a complaint & said they will talk to the host. In the meantime they refused to offer any assistance. They didn’t even help us relocate. Needless to say, host denied there was an infestation and B.com accepted their "word" even though we had pictures of the bedbug. In fact, I'm shocked that during the “investigation” period, B.com allowed the property to continue advertising on their website. So, anyone planning to stay at this property should be aware of the issue. We've stayed at many short-term rentals over the years - including 5 other cities we visited on this trip - and never faced such an issue. We have always provided fair feedback & never wrote a negative review. But this experience was quite the opposite.

Lovely location in Dubrovnik Old Town

Central location just off the Stradun in Dubrovnik Old Town.

Great hosts with a lovely property.

Perfect location, with access to everything.

Because it was so central. It was more noisy than we preferred but did not interfere with our plans or affect our stay.

Location was fantastic!!

6 / 10Average·Jul 2023

Big, clean, location if you want to stay inside old town (put up with noise n crowd up till midnight). I will stay outside old town if I revisit Dubrovnik

Noise n crowd. Apartment wooden floor are squeaky which is especially noisy middle of the night. The air-conditioning is inadequate. Probably about 25 C coolest. Not adequate for over 30 C external temperature The owner only accept cash on taking the keys which I was not prepared for. Luckily I had sufficient cash on hand. Gave me a rude shock.
