My third stay and never disappointed. The bed was so comfortable and the room delightful. Staff good to chat to and the grounds beautiful. Breakfast is a must.

Wonderful historic location outside of Edinburgh with fabulous grounds and garden, luxurious interior - like staying in a stately home. Fantastic breakfast options, comfortable bed.
Bedroom was former servants quarters, so aways up under the roof with lots of stairs and a bit cramped, as was the en-suite bathroom.

Everything was absolutely wonderful, magical and enchanting! From the moment we arrived and drove through the castle grounds, we were completely captivated. The décor of the communal areas, particularly the library and the music room, instantly transported us to another world.
The suite we had the pleasure of staying in was incredibly spacious and completely won us over.
If you’re looking for a truly unique escape and want to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a Scottish castle, this place is absolutely flawless! Every little detail has been thoughtfully considered to make the experience truly unforgettable.
The restaurant was simply divine, and even the room service was absolutely perfect.
Not to mention the magnificent grounds, which add so much to the magic of the place.
We left with heavy hearts, our heads filled with wonderful memories and already longing to return. It was a truly enchanting experience that we won’t soon forget!

The common areas were lovely, furnished with antique furniture. The property overall was charming, and the gardens were vast and beautiful.
The room we were given on the first night was very small and not particularly clean, with insects present because the window had apparently been left open. The spring mattress was old and uncomfortable, and kept sliding off the base. The hairdryer was stored on the floor of the closet. The next morning we noticed a stain, likely mold, under the mattress, and asked to change rooms. The new room was slightly bigger and had clean sheets, but it still wasn't well maintained — for example, the hairdryer was partly melted. Overall, the rooms don't live up to a 4-star standard or the price paid.
