location very convenient, loved the history of the place, staff very kind and helpful.
It was quite confusing at first looking for the car park. The person at the desk gave us a map and said we should have had a copy with our booking but we didn't. We did find it once we had the map and it was fine.

All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the buffet breakfast was good, they accommodated my request for a vegan breakfast too. Great location
The hotel is dated, but we saw a few rooms that were closed for renovation, so this is being addressed. Much more character than the modern chain hotels.I would stay here again

"Brilliant value for money, £65 with a full cooked English breakfast (double room).
Nothing else in the area got close.
I was on a budget and expecting a sub standard room, I was wrong!
Lovley period ..."
