I really appreciated the cleanliness of the accommodation. It was clear that the staff made an effort to keep the spaces clean and well maintained. I also liked having a separate room where guests could dry their hair and do their makeup, which was very practical and convenient.
I had initially booked a bed in a shared male dormitory, but I asked whether it was possible to move to a female dormitory, and they kindly accommodated my request. I really appreciated this flexibility. I also had no problems leaving my luggage at the accommodation, which was very convenient.
Room ventilation and comfort
The room felt quite small for four people, and the window was also small. I did not notice any ventilation vents or other visible ventilation systems apart from the air conditioning.
My respiratory symptoms began during my stay. After the first night, when we slept with the window open, I woke up with a sore throat. After the third night, I woke up with significant nasal congestion. That night, the window was closed and the air conditioning was on. I cannot say for certain what caused these symptoms, but I wondered whether the room’s ventilation and air circulation might have contributed.
I would recommend reviewing the ventilation to ensure adequate air circulation and fresh air, particularly for guests with allergies or respiratory sensitivities.
Air conditioning and guest comfort
I was also a little disappointed with how our request for the air conditioning remote control was initially handled. On the second night, my roommate asked for the remote control and received it. However, on the third night, we were initially told to open the window instead because the manager had said that the air conditioning was not necessary.
The window was positioned in such a way that the air came directly towards our heads, and nighttime temperatures were getting colder during autumn.
I explained this concern to the staff member and mentioned that I had woken up with a sore throat after sleeping with the window open on the first night. The staff member eventually gave us the remote control, which I appreciated. However, I felt that we had to justify our request more than should have been necessary.
I understand that the accommodation has a particular architectural design, but I believe guests should be able to adjust the room temperature according to their comfort, within reasonable limits. Clear communication and greater consideration of guests’ needs would make the stay more pleasant.
