Situated on a working beef farm in a quiet lane and with eco friendly underfloor heating, large comfortable open plan living/dining with wood burning stove and fully equipped kitchen area, two large bedrooms (one double and one twin), walk-in shower and full bath. Cot/highchair provided on request. Separate fully equipped utility room. Living area opens directly on to patio with views of open fields and rolling countryside. Plenty of outdoor space for children to play. Up to two small well behaved dogs welcome. Lots of walks directly from the property on quiet lanes, tracks and paths. Local maps and advice on walks provided on request. Wifi, TV/DVD.
Local village of Horsley within 15 minutes walk with great family friendly award winning pub (withpop-up food and music nights) and community run village shop. Lovely little market town of Nailsworth easily accessible by walking (20 mins) or offers free parking with lots of interesting independent shops and cafes/restaurants and tourist information. Easy access to all Cotswolds attractions, Cirencester 30 minute drive, Cheltenham 40 minutes, Bath 40 minutes. Local farmers markets in Nailsworth (monthly) and Stroud (weekly).

We came from America and stayed here for our honeymoon, intent on exploring many historical sites in Western England. Unaccustomed to Britain’s narrow roads, we ended up barely going beyond Nailsworth, discovering its footpaths and pastures to be filled with plenty enough adventure, beauty, and charm.It’s about 20 a minute walk from Nailsworth, and the footpaths offer quaint traipses through pastures that are sometimes filled with cows and sheep. It was a good distance to the pub and the grocer. The walk to Horsley is steeper but a bit shorter, and the Hog is as authentic a pub as one could expect.Jeanie was a helpful guide in setting expectations for the house, directing us around the region, and was a generally pleasant person. Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our stay at Swallows Rest, Gloucestershire, England.

We had the best week at Swallows Rest. Everything is so well thought through — there are so many small details that make the whole stay feel comfortable, right down to things you don't even realise you needed until you're there. The property was exceptionally clean throughout, and the welcome essentials were a lovely touch that made settling in so easy.The host couldn't have been more accommodating, going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We'd recommend Swallows Rest in a heartbeat and would love to come back.

Spotlessly clean, extremely well furnished and equipped. The property offers a fenced area to the front for parking but with sufficient space for children to play safely and there are beautiful views to enjoy very close to the property.The property enjoys the benefit of under floor heating which can be augmented with an impressive wood burner in the sitting room area.Strongly reccomended.
