Disappointing condition and poor value compared with other nearby rentals.

The size of the space

Unfortunately, this property did not feel like a good value for the price. The overall condition was disappointing and noticeably more worn than the listing photos suggest. The biggest issue was the primary bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom stayed several degrees warmer than the rest of the house and could not be made comfortable without making other areas extremely cold. The shower floor also felt alarmingly unstable, as though you could fall through it. The furniture and bedding are dated and heavily worn, and the patio has significant weathering that does not match the listing photos. When I called about the cooling, property management said they were "surprised" because the property is always booked and does not receive complaints. I mentioned a recent review describing essentially the same response. A maintenance person finally came two days before checkout and told us the cooling problem was a known issue they planned to repair. Given that, management's initial response was especially disappointing. Prospective renters should also be aware of the surroundings. The property is across the street from the ocean, and road traffic is loud enough that we could not hear the ocean. The views were underwhelming. The neighboring property has dogs, visible outdoor debris, and a non-operational vehicle. The owners cannot control this, but it is part of the setting and something I would have wanted to know before booking. Most importantly, the condition and experience did not justify the rental rate. An oceanfront building directly across the street, with recently remodeled units, was renting for approximately the same price during our stay. That comparison made the value of this property difficult to justify. For the price, I expected a better-maintained home, accurately represented outdoor space, proper cooling, and a better overall experience.
