About this house rental
House in Pico Island, consisting of a large kitchen / dining room, fully equipped with dishwasher, electric stove, toaster, microwave, refrigerator, iron, dishwasher and washing machine. Living room with double sofa bed, bookcase with cable TV and Internet. Two double bedrooms, complete with furniture and wardrobes two single bedrooms with wardrobe and desk, two bedrooms with two single beds, wardrobe and desk. balconies facing the mountain, with garden chairs. Garden with fruit trees. Large yard for children to play. Parking for several cars. access to wheelchairs. In the village of Madalena, there are several restaurants, car rental companies. Ten minutes from Pico Island airport. Five minutes Madalena harbor with maritime access to the islands of Faial and S. Jorge. Five minutes walk from the hypermarket. In front of the house there is a restaurant. House located five minutes from the center of Madalena village.

The house was beautiful and well-situated. Unfortunately, it was very cold the afternoon we arrived and it turned out there was no way to make heat in the house. Manuel was very kind to allow us to cancel and find accommodations that were more suitable for us. I would definitely consider staying at the house during summer when the lack of heat would not be an issue.

Casa Rosa (the Pink House) was the perfect spot for our 5 days on Pico for our group of three couples. The owner, Manuel, speaks English fluently and is extremely helpful. He, and his brother- and sister-in-law, who live next door, were very responsive to any issues we had, including coming over at 11 pm to restore power lost during a storm, and responding within a few minutes when one of our party got locked in a bathroom! And, after all their help THEY gave US a bottle of wine for our trouble!
As for the house, the five bedrooms provided plenty of space and choice, and each couple had their own bathroom (which is hard to find). The kitchen was large and well appointed and there was plenty of space to spread out in the house. The outdoor dining table worked well for breakfasts and dinners.
Casa Rosa is about a 5 min drive or 25-30 min walk up a gradual hill from Madelena harbor. It’s perfect if you have a car as there is onsite parking. If no car, the walk is not difficult, and you pass a grocery store on the way, which is convenient. There are also inexpensive taxis if the walk seems too long, but be aware they stop at 10 pm.
We were very happy with our stay at the Pink House, and would definitely recommend it for any larger groups or families.

We traveled to Paris, Lisboa and Pico island and this was the best most relaxing place we stayed. When I go back to Pico island I will make every attempt to stay here again. We loved it. Thank you so much for our stay.
