The hotel has an excellent location, and the property is very clean and well maintained. Our experience at reception upon arrival was particularly good, and we really appreciated being allowed to check in early at no additional cost.
Valet parking is available, which is a convenient option, although we chose to use the parking lot directly across the street throughout our stay.
Breakfast was of good quality, with generous portions despite not being a buffet. We also appreciated the flexibility to customize the standard breakfast options for an additional charge.
Overall, the facilities, cleanliness, location, and food quality were very good, and there was a lot to enjoy about our stay.
We mentioned several times that we were interested in a late checkout (both through Booking.com and in person) and were consistently told to ask on the day of departure. Nobody mentioned that we needed to ask first thing in the morning. On checkout day, we received a call telling us we had 30 minutes to leave the room. When we asked about the late checkout, we were told we should have requested it earlier that morning.
We fully understand that late checkout is subject to availability. What disappointed us wasn't the refusal itself, but the fact that the hotel had all the information in advance to handle the situation differently and simply didn't. A little proactive communication would have made all the difference. Instead, we genuinely felt like we were being pushed out rather than treated as valued guests.
As for the room, the hotel promotes environmentally friendly practices, including water conservation, which I'm perfectly fine with as long as they don't compromise the guest experience. However, the shower pressure was rather weak, and the toilet flush was barely effective. We also booked a room with a balcony, but the actual view was of a rather ugly neighboring rooftop, something that wasn't apparent from the room photos.
None of these issues ruined our stay, and there were certainly many positive aspects to the hotel. But taken together, they left us feeling that the attention to detail and overall hospitality fell short of what we'd expect from a four-star hotel.
