The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. There were also a number of very good restaurants within walking distance which was nice because we didn't have to get in the car again to go to dinner.
Unfortunately this is one of those motels that views all their guests as vandals, requiring a $100 security deposit that is refunded in 2 to 7 business days, depending on your bank. So at the end of my vacation, the motel has given me a task to double-check my card statements to make sure the refund has been refunded to my account.

The Sojourn Los Angeles offers a convenient location, with plenty of amenities nearby and an area that felt safe. The hotel was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The affordable price and availability of parking were also welcome advantages.
The main drawbacks were the noisy air conditioning and the noise between floors. During my stay on the first floor, I could hear quite a lot of noise from the second floor. Better sound insulation in the older building would make the stay more comfortable.

Nice location, friendly staff.
Rooms smelled dated. Pool area was small. Limited parking despite having to pay extra for it.
