Colony Inn - North Hollywood - Hotel Near Universal Studios

A good location nice and quiet.

I can say the room that I was in was good but some things were out dated. Also some things were kinda falling apart. Other than that it was a good experience.

It was in a great location, comfy beds and so many things in walking distance. We could see universal from our window which was super cool! The first night, we walked across the street to Idle hour bar for their happy hour which was super cute and fun, then to the cvs and a few local stores. It’s right next to a starbucks (walking distance) and there’s a coffee bean and tea leaf maybe a 2 minute drive away as well. Universal is about a 10 minute drive away and it was super easy to just hop in an uber/lyft to and from the hotel and the park (which maxed out at about $11 one way). We were pleased to have a mini fridge in our room, because we weren’t sure if there would be one and it was such a good size to hold both food and drinks and it kept it all ice cold. There was no microwave which was perfectly fine for us because it wasn’t needed. Overall, our stay was great and I will definitely be staying here again but I do hope in time they get more business and money for upgrades!

The only downside is how outdated it is because it has so many pros. For example, when we arrived it initially had this old smell to the room, the dresser/hutch in the room didn’t close fully, the shower curtain was very old and needed changing, and the bathroom randomly got this odd sewage smell that disappeared as fast as it appeared but it came out of nowhere.

It was clean, easily accessible, and very reasonable

Honestly very trivial. There is a night light that you can't shut off making it very bright.

I liked how close it was to our destination

The beds were uncomfortable and the pillows like rocks, also whatever detergent that was used gave me a reaction on my back
