Interesting artistic detail and character.
Racing cars nearby Friday and Saturday night.

We were short term. My ex wife flew from 2000 miles to see me in Portland. Our stay at the Royal Sonesta was a one night thing before we spent a week on the Oregon coast. Royal Sonesta was perfect.
The valet situation wasn't fabulous. However, we both understood the challenges of downtown parking. Didnt take away from the experience.

Staff are incredibly friendly and go above and beyond to accommodate us (champagne, dog beds, etc). They are literally SO sweet and chill! The rooms are gorgeous! Especially the Grand King Suite- the tub makes is well worth it !
AC doesn't always work super well but it's an old building so ya know

Nicely refurbished older hotel.
Crappy, inferior bedding. Quality of sheets was that of a cheap dive hotel.
