This place is a throwback to the days of independently owned & operated motor lodges. Nothing corporate or cookie cutter about it, which is ok by me, but maybe not for some. The room was clean, comfortable, & quaintly furnished. No fancy extras, but all the basics were there. We were pre-paid online, so check in was quick & easy. No forms, ID, or CC holds involved.
We arrived after dark, so did not initially realize that there was more than one building (on opposite sides of the street) involved. Once we got our bearings, all was well. In the light of day we could see that the building exteriors needed some TLC. Nothing was in disrepair or dangerous, just enough to make the average person think twice about staying. Such a shame to see it was not what it used to be. In its heyday, I’m sure it was quite the place!
