The Brandon Inn

Quaint hotel maintained and not torn down like so many

Still could use some updates

Brandon Inn is much grander than I had expected. I felt transported back to more opulent, glorious days. I enjoyed staying here immensely. The Brandon Inn is so much more exceptional and atmospheric than a chain establishment. With a modern adaption, check in and access to my room was all arranged ahead of time, by email. It was so nice, on a dark and stormy October evening, to be able to head straight to my room and get in quickly utilizing the detailed and accurate instructions. I went next door to the popular Eatery for a tasty and convenient dinner. Afterwards it was nice to sit on the comfortable sofa before the gas fire on the spacious main floor of the inn before retiring for the night. Breakfast at the Inn in the morning was also more than I had expected. I ate well.

Nothing.

The breakfast was good. However. We usually enjoy some kind of hot food. It was a nice touch for the manager to pass around a tray of fresh from the oven scones table to table.

It was a little hard to pull the suitcase cart into the front door.

Nice antique-y feeling about the place and very good breakfast

An evening wedding with a live band was scheduled without my knowledge when I booked. We were on the second floor, and the racket was intolerable until almost 10 pm. This certainly isn't fair to the guests who paid almost 250 dollars per night. I would advise if you are going to book weddings, they be afternoon affairs (say 2-8 pm), ESPECIALLY if there is going to be a live band with mic-ed music and drums and electric musical instruments. Had I known the quality of sleep would be so compromised, no way would I have stayed here. The second night, someone in a room above us seemed to be banging on the floor until almost 11 pm as well.
