We pulled up to a building that by the looks of it had us wandering if we needed to find a different hotel. Luckily the inside seems to have been redone and the staff is the best part of this hotel. The only complaint about the rooms was how thin the walls are. Neighbors kept us up every night in to the very late hours. We could hear every conversation in the hallways as well. Half the outlets didn’t work in the room and the closet area was ridiculously small. The area was a good spot to several close cute local restaurants. The hospital is literally across the street which we were not there for, but it seemed to be nice for most of the guests.
The look of the building from the outside. It had us not wanting to walk into the building. Water stains from window units and the stripped to the bone look hopefully is temporary and getting painted soon. The wall are way to thin!! I could hear every conversation the neighbors had. We even heard someone’s CPap machine. We had a sound machine, the room ac and the tv going… didn’t help to block out noise.

I stayed there because of the proximity to Duke University Hospital. They have a shuttle, but it was just a 5 min walk, and mostly because of the long traffic lights, one has to cross 2 busy streets. Room was comfortable and well lit. Bed was comfortable. Staff were outstanding; so helpful and friendly. They have a cafe open most of the day with some breakfast, lunch and snack foods, but I have not eaten there. There are places to eat within 15-25 min walk or a very short drive.
I would have liked to have a kettle in the room to make tea

The bathroom was very clean. Amenities were fine for our needs. Mattress was comfortable. The best part of staying here is it's proximity to Duke University Hospital. It can be very challenging to navigate parking and driving. They let us park our car in their lot even before check in and we were able to use the shuttle to the hospital. We were also able to leave our car and use the shuttle even after checkout time the next day! This was all done with a very agreeable and smiling staff! They were wonderful. Both front desk agents were so agreeable and bent over backwards for guests. I will be staying here every time I have to visit the hospital!
