Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Erie

The room was very spacious and friendly staff and awesome whirl tub and great swimming pool and hot tub and sauna you name it. Close to shopping and outdoor activities and connections to the splash lagoon

It smelled of stale cigarettes and the price was expensive and access to location of room from parking and luggage carrying and the pool access location was long and tedious. Breakfast was not favorable and selection was minimal. Check in with my card was ridiculous beings that I verified ahead of time about having used PayPal debit card to reserve room and remove that card to use my cash app debit card and I was told they wouldn't accept cash app. So I then had to leave check in to go back out and transfer funds to PayPal debit card for the hold to be placed which worked after having to run around the blvd again after being exhausted and eager to rest and fact of having 2 kids one younger and in five points harness so it's just tedious for silly unnecessary trips when exhausted.... Then at checkout I was informed that my card was declined bc I had only enough for the one night and had 300 on card that was on temporary hold from checking in day prior and never have I ever ran into the issues I did about paying bc the point of the hold on the card from checking in is that following morning it's just the same ticket transaction pushed to be paid out the rest of the releasing the hold and changing the same hold into payment by processing it and finalizing it I was told it wasn't the case that for some reason and they guessed that it way bc of prepaid debit card from PayPal that I couldn't leave until I made a payment for room that processes. So I said well release the hold to cancel the first one and then pay it out. Bc I didn't have 600 hundred dollars upfront to cover it until the refund was cleared back to me which they informed me it could take up to a week for it. I said well then you can wait the week out to get paid. Only to have to stand there and my autistic son and two daughters waiting for 2 and half hours from staff try to figure it out.

The location was great

I thought the room came with a fire place, as the picture showed

The location is central to shopping, Presque Isle, restaurants and is very close to Splash Lagoon. Having a separate living room and kitchen was really convienent. Shower had good pressure and was warm right away. Ice machines worked and breakfast was plentiful.

Our bedroom had 2 double beds and was kind of tight. The beds were really hard but we were only there one night. This location seems like an older property. There were window air conditioners in the living room and bedoom and no fan in the bathroom.
