Garner Hotel North Bergen - NYC Gateway by IHG

I booked this stay for two reasons, Harry at MSG and parent's weekend at Steven's institute. The location was perfect, the hotel was clean, room comfortable. Free breakfast was standard. Free parking. What more could you need?

It was great! Clean, friendly, quick uber to the city, and the bed was so comfortable!

It was clean and the staff were nice, good breakfast, free parking.

It was pricey but that’s the area I assume.

It was mediocre as far as price and location. The 5dollar trolly to Times Square was awesome. Coming back it dropped us off about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. It did not appear to be the safest place to be walking. And on Sunday the trolly quits running at 2 pm. It also require cash and the hotel has no way for you to get cash. No ATM. No Venmo.

The traffic outside was very noisy. The heater didn't operate or function. It wasn't working when we arrived. It quit working our final night. We ordered a pizza and since our room didn't have a table or chairs and we didn't want to eat on the bed, we went to the lobby. We were not allowed to use the breakfast area to sit and eat. We were told we could eat in the lobby chairs that had very soft relaxing cushions, not conduciveto eating.. There were no tables to set the pizza box. The young girl at the front desk was not the least bit helpful. The next evening we saw that there was a small room with a table and chairs and there were people eating in there. The breakfast room is too small and the food is mediocre. Not too many choices. Customer service was lacking.
