This was our first time ever staying in Montagu. The unit where we stayed was very quiet and we were grateful that there was no loud parties or noise after 8pm as we were desperate for sleep & relaxing. The welcome from security was so sweet and very friendly. We appreciated the DSTV access on the TV for our toddler and the unit was spotlessly clean. Our honest opinion is that the resort is fine, ok-ish but seriously needs upgrading.
We really expected more - We felt the price is highly overcharged for what you get - the units are fine but very old. Everything is nicely clean but at that price (just under R2000 per night - and that was with 10% Genius discount) it was very expensive for what you get. The unit is not serviced during that day but you can request it at an extra fee. The whole look & feel is like something from the 80s. The place desperately needs investment in the product to warrant the prices charged. The music at the pool area was blasting loudly and was not to our taste at all, so we did not use the pool area, even though it looked lovely. We chose to go next door to Avalon Springs and pay the extra R100 per person to spend the day there rather.
