The location was excellent as it was very close to most of the tourist attractions -- the waterfront board walk, the museum of immigration, the maritime museum, etc., as well as eateries catering to diverse palates. The hotel staff was cheerful, smiling AND helpful. On the first night of our arrival, I slipped on the sidewalk on Barrington Street and got some serious scratches on my knee and left hand. We returned to the hotel (it was around 11:45 PM) and requested for help/first-aid at the hotel reception. The attending officer Jasmeher Singh was extremely helpful and empathetic; not only used bandages and wipes, etc., from the first aid box but contacted a couple of pharmacies to seek further help and an appointment for tetanus inoculation. He filled in the detailed information and got an appointment for me for the following morning at Shoppers Drug Mart (as it was past midnight then and it was not possible to get the inoculation done at that time). Jasmeher is certainly an asset for The Westin and I hope they have more like him!! The person at the conceirge, Lee, was also helpful and provided us a city map of Halifax and gave us excellent advice about some of the "must-see" places, not-to be-missed eateries, and how to reach them. Overall, we had a great stay at the Westin, Halifax Nova Scotian.
Well, we think the hotel room doors had to be pushed hard and more than once to be opened.

Location and room was immaculate.
Service at front desk was patchy- others served before me. The photos in booking.com didn’t match the room I was allocated so I asked for a room that looked the same as the picture on the website. The breakfast was ok but not what I usually expect from a Marriott hotel.
