Quirky hotel. Room was big with large adjoining bathroom. Good location. Close to the Metro Station ( 1 minute walk) which was handy for travelling downtown to Old Montreal and shops.
Sam explained everything really well when we checked in.
Our room could only be accessed by stairs there was no elevator. It was a bit hard carrying suitcases upstairs. This is not the fault of the property it is what it is.

Room was large and comfortable. Even though our window faced the street, we did not notice any traffic noise. Breakfast was a great value and quite tasty.
We stayed in the main unit (where breakfast was served) and could hear the kitchen staff getting ready for the morning. Fortunately, we are early risers. It also would have been nice to have amenities (coffee/tea) pointed out at check-in.

I've stayed at this au rfe a few times. The location is ideally situated.
While I skipped breakfast this visit, past stays prove it’s always excellent, made even better by the wonderful warm and attentive staff
The 100+ year history of this B&B shines through in the warm, vibrant rooms, beautiful brickwork & furnishings - which I love! While most rooms here feature standard en-suites, this specific room happened to have a separate private bathroom. I was fully aware of this layout when booking online, & though it was just the part of the stay I personally enjoyed less, the incredible old-world charm made up for it.

Funky decoration and vibe. Excellent breakfast helpful staff
After we arrived and went to our room we discovered we hadn’t been given a key to the outer door despite being told there were 2 keys in the envelope. The receptionist had left by then. The emergency contact number went to voicemail (in French). It took approximately 30 minutes for them to contact us. By that time we had found a key box at reception and a second set of keys. The receptionist should have checked the envelope to ensure it did actually contain 2 keys
