Misleading
The room I booked had three ratings, all of them a "10" and none of them offering any kind of review. They were, of course, fake.
The "private bathroom" turned out to be outside the room, in the hallway, open to everyone. According to the app, I had booked a room with private bathroom. According to the confirmation email, it was an "external private" bathroom. It was neither. I was deeply disappointed and felt misled.
The photographs of the room had obviously been edited to make it look nicer than it was.
There were windows but these had been covered with various kinds of fabric. On the third day of my stay, after several attempts to let some natural light in, I found that a blind could be rolled up if handled carefully. I now had sunlight, but also had to put up with glances from curious passersby. The room was at street level, facing the street. In the app, this was described as "city view".
The bed was uncomfortable. After two nights spent lying awake with an aching back, I bought paracetamol. That worked.
One night, the duvet crept out of its duvet cover and I woke up, tangled up in both. From then on, I lay on the duvet and used the cover as a sheet.
There were ceiling lights, some of which worked most of the time, but the light switches were not near the door, they were at the opposite side of the room.
All in all, it was a depressing experience and I was happy to leave.
