The host was very polite, kind, and welcoming. He greeted us warmly and showed us everything in the apartment, which we appreciated.
However, I was disappointed and felt misled by the way the apartment was advertised on Booking.com. One of the things that caught my attention when choosing this property was the swimming pool shown in the photos. The listing gave the impression that the pool was an amenity associated with the apartment building and available to guests.
Only after our arrival, when I contacted the host to ask about the pool, did I learn that it was actually located in a neighbouring building and that access required purchasing a separate day pass.
I understand that some facilities may come at an additional cost. However, this should be made absolutely clear, and a swimming pool that is neither in the building nor included in the rental should not be presented in the photos in a way that creates the impression that it is part of the accommodation’s amenities.
Even if the additional charge is mentioned somewhere in the listing, this information is easy to overlook when the pool is prominently featured in the photos and presented alongside the apartment’s facilities. For me, this was misleading and affected my impression of the experience.
