5 sleepless nights and an absent host
- Modern design and spacious
I was initially hesitant to book this property due to the absence of reviews and the duration of our stay. It takes a lot for me to write a bad review but this was unfortunately a truly and entirely disappointing stay.
- Floors were not clean on arrival and ventilation fans in both bathrooms full of dust. While we were glad we could place our luggage in the flat while a nice lady was still cleaning it, we specifically said we will be outside until at least 2pm and for her to take her time getting the flat ready.
- Toilet seat and faucet loose. We mentioned this on arrival and were told it will be fixed the next working day, which unfortunately never happened, even after inquiring again.
- Bedroom looking onto a rather neglected street with garbage/glass containers right opposite which are emptied 2-3 times throughout the night (great service but obviously very noisy)
- No soundproofing despite being located next to a popular street full of pubs and bars. A lot of noise throughout the night from bargoers throwing their glass bottles into the containers. Every sound from people talking (shouting in the night) on the street can be heard, as well as every step of the neighbors upstairs, especially in the nighttime
- Some small cockroaches
- Lack of daylight (living area with kitchen window is partially underground and bedroom window opens to the street right below)
- Laminate floors are uneven and noisy
The biggest disappointment is that after flagging our concern about the noise disturbance on the second day and asking for an early departure, as we realized a peaceful sleep was simply impossible, the host went completely silent. Until today, we have not received a response, solution or apology from the host, let alone compensation. In my eyes, this is completely unacceptable for a hospitality business. Needless to say, we did not get any rest during those 5 days and the darkness in the flat did not enhance the mood. As a family, we felt very left alone and unsafe.
