Ruined trip – Severe lack of basic amenities, terrible pre-arrival panic, and unusable pool
Comfortable beds.
Extremely stressful experience from start to finish. Absolutely not worth the £1,150+ paid.
1. Airport Panic & Payment Mismanagement:
The night before our flight, while standing in the airport, the host messaged me claiming they needed to confirm payment and implied we might not have an apartment to stay in! I had paid over a week in advance, and they had even taken the money out of my bank account a day earlier than scheduled. This caused immense, unnecessary anxiety. I had to call Booking.com customer support directly from the airport just to ensure we would actually have accommodation upon landing.
2. No Hot Water for 2 out of 3 Days:
Upon checking in at 3:00 PM, there was zero running hot water. A representative that spoke zero English may I add, came at 5:30 PM promising a fix within 20 minutes, but nothing was resolved. We were left without hot water for two out of 3 days and had to deal with two separate maintenance visits. We were forced to attend a pre-planned VIP football event completely unwashed, and my son's birthday morning was ruined waiting around for repairs.
3. Filthy Pool & Poor Upkeep:
One of the main reasons we looked forward to our stay was having access to facilities, but the shared pool was absolutely filthy—I wouldn't even let a dog swim in it. Furthermore, the balcony had uncleaned bird feces, there were scuffs and marks all over the internal walls, and basic essentials like hand soap, tea, and coffee were completely missing.
