Summary:

Solace House is one of two homes on ten secluded acres bordering Joshua Tree National Park, with mature Joshua trees, mountains in nearly every direction and a path from the backyard into the park. Limewashed walls, natural stone, warm wood, handcrafted finishes and artwork give every room its own character. Walk into the park at first light, swim and soak through the afternoon, unroll a mat on the yoga pad, then lie back on the stargazing net bed. Three king suites and a queen. Nothing shared.



The Space:

-Respecting the Desert & Dark Skies-

This home sits adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park and is surrounded by incredible wildlife, natural beauty, and some of the darkest night skies in Southern California. To help preserve this special environment and be considerate of our neighbors, we kindly ask all guests to keep music, conversations, and other noise at a respectful level throughout their stay.



This is not a party house. Please do not book this property if you are planning to party.



Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. All music must be turned off by 10:00 PM, and conversations should be kept at a low volume to avoid disturbing neighbors and wildlife. Only the property's built-in Sonos sound system may be used. Portable speakers, DJ equipment, amplified sound systems, and other external audio devices are strictly prohibited. Excess noise can result in county fines that will be passed on to you as the guest and the termination of your reservation without refund.



In support of Joshua Tree’s Dark Sky Ordinance and to minimize light pollution, all exterior landscape lighting automatically turns off at 9:00 PM each evening. For your convenience, we provide lanterns to help you safely navigate the outdoor areas after dark.

Solace House is a four-bedroom, four-bathroom home on ten secluded acres directly bordering Joshua Tree National Park, with mature Joshua trees and mountain views. Limewashed walls, natural stone, warm wood, handcrafted finishes and artwork give each room its own character, and large openings frame the landscape. Outside are a pool, an in-ground hot tub, a sunken fire pit, a yoga pad and a stargazing net bed. It is one of two separate homes on the property, with no shared spaces, and suits families and groups. On cool nights, the big tiled fireplace is the best seat in the house.

-Outdoor Amenities-

Ten acres stretch toward the mountains, and you can walk from the backyard directly into Joshua Tree National Park. The pool and in-ground hot tub face the mountains and desert, with loungers alongside, and a sunken conversation fire pit sits beside the pool. A large outdoor dining table and gas BBQ make it easy to eat outside, an open-air pad is set up for yoga, meditation or a private sound bath, and a stargazing net bed is the place to lie back under dark skies. The primary suite has its own patio with an outdoor shower.



-Living Area-

The living room has limewashed walls, warm wood ceilings, artwork and large windows framing the mountains. A large tiled gas fireplace warms it after sunset, and there is generous seating, a large Frame TV and a Sonos sound system. Books, board games, yoga mats and yoga blocks are provided.



-Kitchen and Dining-

The kitchen has Brazilian quartzite counters and integrated appliance cabinetry, and it is stocked with cookware, utensils, olive oil and plenty of spices. A drip coffee maker and French press are provided with coffee, tea and sugar. The kitchen adjoins the dining area, and the outdoor dining table and gas BBQ face the landscape.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Three bedrooms each have a king bed, a private ensuite bathroom, built-in clothing storage and a desk. The primary king suite opens to a private patio with an outdoor shower. The fourth bedroom has a queen bed and uses the full hallway bathroom, which also serves the shared spaces.



-Surrounding Area-

Joshua Tree National Park begins at the edge of the property, so early walks and golden-hour hikes start at the back door. Joshua Tree has restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and galleries, and local experiences include guided hikes, rock climbing, horseback riding, stargazing, sound baths, yoga and massage.



Guest Access:

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.



Shadow House is elsewhere on the ten-acre property and may be occupied separately. The two homes are designed for privacy and do not share indoor spaces or outdoor amenities. Solace House can also be booked together with Shadow House for larger groups.

Getting Around:

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



Please note that Solace House is in a remote location, and the final stretch to the home is on dirt roads, so please take it slow. The dirt roads are maintained, and a four-wheel drive car is not necessary, but please note that the dirt road conditions vary and may have bumps and ruts, particularly after rainstorms.
