DO NOT STAY HERE

Review We had a very disappointing and stressful experience with this accommodation, particularly with the check-in and the lack of support from the host. I travelled to Paris with my parents for my father’s 84th birthday. On arrival, we could not get into the building using the instructions provided by the host. We spent around 15 minutes outside repeatedly trying the code while my elderly parents were exhausted from travelling. I called the host several times for help, but not one of my phone calls was answered. Thankfully, a resident/neighbour happened to come past and helped us. She explained that an additional letter/key needed to be entered before the code — something that had not been included in the instructions we were given. Without her help, I genuinely don’t know how long we would have been left outside. After finally entering the building, we then had to climb six flights of stairs to reach the apartment, which was extremely difficult for my 84-year-old father. Unfortunately, when we reached the apartment, we then had another access problem. The electronic locking system would not let us into the actual apartment. Again, I repeatedly tried calling the host and received no answer. We were left outside the apartment for approximately another 15 minutes trying to work out how we were going to get in. Eventually, because the electronic system was not working properly, we had to use an emergency physical key. This meant going all the way back down the six flights of stairs to retrieve the key and then climbing all the way back up again. What upset me most was the lack of support. The host had provided a WhatsApp/telephone number and said we could contact him if we had any problems, yet during the exact situation when we urgently needed assistance, he did not answer any of my calls. He also did not subsequently call to check whether we had managed to get inside safely.
