While the apartment was in a great location, unfortunately the property was not as described in the booking, and there were several issues that significantly affected our stay and left us feeling uncomfortable and dissatisfied. When I originally booked it was advertised as sleeping 5 with 2 bedrooms and 2 sofa beds - I have attached a screen shot of this.
1. Unauthorised/Unexpected People Present at Check-In
When we arrived at the apartment to check in, there were three males already inside the property who stated that they were cleaners. However, their appearance and behaviour did not give us confidence that they were there to clean. They left the apartment without any obvious cleaning equipment and were dressed as though they were going out for the evening.
As guests, we found this extremely concerning. We had not been informed that other people would have access to the apartment, and the presence of three unknown males inside the property upon our arrival left us feeling vulnerable and uneasy.
Throughout the weekend, we were therefore reluctant to leave personal belongings, valuables or expensive items in the apartment because we were concerned about who might have access to the property. This significantly affected our sense of security and our enjoyment of the accommodation.
2. Insufficient Bedding and Towels
The booking was made for three guests, and the property information stated that towels were provided.
However, when we arrived, there was only bedding and towels provided for two people.
We therefore did not receive the basic provisions required for the number of guests included in our booking.
3. No Toiletries Provided
The listing also stated that toiletries were provided as part of the amenities. However, there were no toiletries available when we arrived.
Again, this meant that the property did not provide the amenities that had been advertised at the time of booking.
