Very disappointing and unsafe stay — would not recommend
Unfortunately, our stay at this property was extremely disappointing and, at times, genuinely unsafe.
When we arrived, there were no keys provided, which was already a stressful start. Once we got inside, we found that none of the doors properly shut and none of the windows properly closed, which was especially concerning as I was staying there with my 2-year-old child.
There were also multiple maintenance issues throughout the property. The washing machine leaked, the TV was broken, and there were various things around the property that clearly needed attention. There was also damage/marking around the TV area that appeared to already be there when we arrived.
The most concerning incident was when my 2-year-old son found a rusty razor blade on the back veranda. Finding something like that in a property where a young child is staying is completely unacceptable and could have resulted in a very serious injury.
Things became even more concerning when I went into the room to settle my son for a nap. When I tried to leave the room afterwards, the door handle came off and I became stuck inside the room. I had to try to get myself out while caring for my young child.
We contacted the host about the problems, but instead of helping us resolve them, our calls were hung up on and our attempts to contact them were ignored. We were left dealing with these issues ourselves despite paying to stay at the property.
Overall, the property was not properly maintained, there were serious safety concerns, and the lack of communication from the host made the situation even worse. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering staying here carefully think twice, particularly anyone travelling with children.
This was not the standard of accommodation we expected, and we would not stay here again.
